Fatal Accident on Interstate 29

An Aberdeen man died Thursday morning in a
one-vehicle crash on Interstate 29 west of Clear Lake.
Douglas Roger Aberle, 31, was traveling south on
I-29 about nine miles west of Clear Lake when he lost control of a 2003
Dodge Ram on the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle entered the west ditch
and rolled, coming to rest on the driver’s side. Both the driver and a
passenger were wearing seatbelts.
The passenger, Reed Rasmussen, 55, of Aberdeen,
suffered minor injuries
The Castlewood Fire Department, Clear Lake Fire Department, Deuel County Ambulance, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Deuel County Sheriff's Office and the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office were all on scene.
