Hamlin County Sheriff's Office
Sheriff of Hamlin County

Sheriff Mack has been with the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office since 1976. He was a deputy sheriff with the department from 1976 until 1979 before he ran for Sheriff. He was elected into office the fall of 1979 and has held the position to this day. Sheriff Mack is a member of the South Dakota Sheriff's Association and was president during the year of 1986.  Sheriff Mack is also certified in HazMat Printing and helps out with Hunter's Safety Course held by the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks. During his off hours, Sheriff Mack likes to spend time fishing, camping, working in his garden and being with family.

Sheriff Mack and his wife, Louise, ran the sheriff’s office by themselves until the 2002.  Now, the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office has three full-time deputies with the help of two communities in the county, Lake Norden and Castlewood. Louise works as a secretary and dispatcher for the department and keeps police reports, civil papers, and other law enforcement items in order.  Louise has been working with the department since 1980.

If you would like to get a hold of Sheriff Mack or Louise, please call the Hamlin County Sheriff's Office at (605) 783-3232.
